The villa sits directly on the beach in a secluded, almost private bay. Seasonal tidal changes affect the shoreline in front of the villa; during the summer months, low tide may cause the sea to retreat, making swimming less suitable at certain times. In return, wide stretches of sand and exposed reef invite relaxed walks along the shore and quiet exploration of the natural surroundings.

Namuang & Waterfalls

The Namuang area forms the lush mountain backdrop behind Villa Baan Tawan Chai. Covered in dense greenery, coconut groves, and fruit plantations, this region is known for its waterfalls, scenic viewpoints, and cooler inland atmosphere. It is also a starting point for jungle safaris and nature-based activities, offering beautiful views across the south of Koh Samui.

Thong Krut Fisherman’s Village

Thong Krut is a charming fishing village set along a calm, shallow-water bay, just a short drive from the villa. The beachfront is lined with relaxed local restaurants serving authentic Thai cuisine as well as French and Italian dishes. Dining here is unpretentious and atmospheric, with open views across the Gulf of Siam and nearby islands.

Lamai Beach

Lamai is one of Samui’s most lively yet approachable beach towns and can be reached within around ten minutes by car. The area offers a wide selection of restaurants, cafés, shops, and entertainment, along with larger supermarkets such as Tesco and Makro. On Saturdays, Lamai hosts its popular walking street market, where food stalls, clothing, and local crafts create a vibrant evening atmosphere.

Chaweng & Chaweng Noi Beach

Chaweng and Chaweng Noi are among the island’s most dynamic coastal areas, offering a contrast to the quiet setting of the villa.
